First Gold of the year!

Had a few hunts since the start of this year and most have been pretty unimpressive. Today was MUCH better! Found alot more stuff than on previous hunts, must have had a little sand pulled away. Fair amount of change, LOTS of junk, a junk earring, titanium ring and the best of it was the 4 gram, 14K ring with what looks like a star sapphire. Nice first gold for the year!

Yeah, I was using the EQX (NOX) on Beach 2, 23 sensitivity, all metal, rang up as a solid 12.

You had a good day! The gemstone, in my opinion, looks like a cat's eye chrysoberyl.

Thanks man! The closer I looked at it the less it looked like a sapphire. I also put the diamond tester to it and it didnt move at all. If it was a sapphire it would have gone up a bit .
