First Flat Button...? Any info on age, etc., appreciated

This is the first time I've found a button like this. It's the size of a quarter. Any sense of its age?

I like your opinion regarding its age! But it has such a green patina; is that normal for tombac buttons? I thought they had a lot of zinc in them

its not normal, but the mix of metals vary greatly, I've had similar colours to this one.

Might have been sitting in some fertilizer @ some point in time. Even if it was sitting in a field that had fertilizer in it from the 19th century,etc it can make buttons,coins or what have you come out looking like this. The worse are the coins that been sitting in fertilizer at some point in their life. pretty much ruins em! Kewl flat though..
