FIRST FINDS & SOME KIND OF GUN!!!!

new to these forums and md.
my best friend and myself decided to buy a detector(cheap one first) we have already ordered a better model

our first finds
2.94 in clad nothin special in there

some sort of spike(anyone know what it is?) some other odds and ends
a silver wedding band is the best find inside reads 825
lots of tabs and junk

and this really cool gun .22 caliber or bb maybe
anyway those are our first finds and of course we are hooked already

ill get my friend to take a good pic of the barrel since im not so good with the camera

on a side note i have to give credit to my friends BEAUTIFUL wife she was with us today
at the ball field concession stand. she has an eagle eye for the money!
the gun was found behind my house n the woods

We ordered a Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100. I see you use one as well, how does it do? Thanks for replying were new to this any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to add my "Welcome"!
Neat finds, that gun looks like a "breakover" shotgun to me. Just for fun you try to clean out the barrel. Kidding!
Beats the heck outta my first finds.

Welcome! Nice finds for starting out. Looking at the barrel and sight system, I'd say it's a rifle. 1st thought was a Stevens Favorite but it looks to be a break-over instead. If it's not too rusted, I'd get some gun oil and some 0000 steel wool and try along the left side either in front of or below the rear sight. You might be able to bring out some of the stamping if lucky. Good luck and continued HH!

New England Firearms(NEF) make a series of interchangeable barrels,single shot,rifle and shotgun,breakdown.With a rear site,it most likely is a rifled barrel.Some of you gun guys help me out now,who did NEF buy out or change thier name from? Was it H&R?

Yes, it was H&R. One of the shotgun models used to be the 088 and was changed to Pardner.
