Found about 3in deep some kind of metal.. Side of old road that dated back to the 1800 as far as i kno.. Old maps show a house on the lot but not even the landlord remember a house ever being across the street..... Any ideas?

I'm guessing it is a melted blob of aluminum, probably melted cans from a camp fire.

Welcome to the Hobby!

Thank you for the welcome!!! How could i tell if alum or not? Seems like its not to light but not real eavy either... That would be alit of cans tho right

If you can gouge it with a pocket knife its soft metal. While other metals will scratch, al will get a pretty good chunk taken regardless of temper

Could have been an auto accident and the car caught fire that could explain the large amount of melted metal. As you say was beside road.

Silver im guessin... I shaved a lil bit on my ring off an shaved a lil of that blob offf an felt an looked the same

Silver does not get a white corrosion on it. If you really think it's silver any jewelery store or pawn shop can test it, but I doubt it's silver.

You have any analysis labs near you? They would be able to tell you right what metal it . Where are you located? State ?

White corrosion could be lead and red could be rust so I think you have a mix of melted metals there.
