My first time out with my 8 year old granddaughter reaps rewards. She dug up what she calls The Titanic, 2 Newer year quarters and a penny. dug in a sandbox at a park in Louisa County, VA, very close to the epicenter of the August 23, 2011 earthquake which destroyed her elementary school. Haleigh was very excited about the find but quickly lost interest and ran to the jungle gym to play.

Put that ship away for her. In the future, when you are gone, she will see it and remember the good times she had with you. Just show it to her for the next couple of years and she'll remember later on and treasure it...

TY Austin for the great advice. BTW...Austin is going to be the new baby's name! If its a girl, Austin Michaela and boy Austin Michael. My daughter wants the middle name to be after her Uncle that passed away from lung cancer at age 40.

You have a 19yo grandchild?????????

Sure do! he is a red shirt freshman on the JMU football team and a 4.7 GPA when he entered college this season as a sophomore. We are blessed.
