Well I finally got to take my metal detector out to the beach. It was so frustrating! It was beeping all over the place, it would beep once then the second time I would sweep over it nothing. It was driving me crazy, I guess I need to learn how to adjust the settings better. It's hard to figure out cause I don't want to miss out on anything. Well anyways I did get something cool out of that trip to the beach. I guess I have to give the credit to my boyfriend though. I had him take over for a little bit while I went to the restroom and sure enough when I get back he has this big grin on his face. He found a ring! It's gold plated though and created stones but its still pretty cool. It was probally a mothers ring with the childrens birthstones. So hopefully next time the ring will be real!

That is still a great looking ring and beats a pull tab any day of the week, congrats

You did way better than my day at the beachlast week (3 pennies) turn that senesitivity down a little when your beach hunting.

:thumbsup:Happy Dance, The more you use the detetore the better you will be with it. Put some diffrent coins on the ground, and swipe over them. and listen to how it sounds. then berry them between one and five inches and then swipe over them, and listen. Try it with pulltabs too, silver rings and gold rings, untill you can here the diffrets sounds or see the VDI number, that should do it. Lift loop

This might be the worlds coolest UGLY ring.

I would call it a good day!

Thats the key... turn the sensitivity down until the chatter disappears. This isn't necessary on machines with accurate ground balancing.

Well that is nicer than anything I've found at the beach yet! congrats.

great find. I need to plan a trip to the beach soon.

The best is yet to come. Patience is rewarding.

Welcome to TN.

As the others have said, turn the sense down till it is stable. Your picking up the salt mineralization. It is a major problem on machines not really designed or suited for salt water beach detecting. If you can hunt the sand that never gets wet it will not be as bad, unfortunately the best finds are usually found in the wet sand and in the water............A ring is a ring is a ring. Gold and silver ones will come.....

Good luck and good hunting.......................
