First Find of 2018!

Just a glimpse of black up against a tree root and 2018 has finally officially started! I moved just enough dirt off to see if I needed to go get my camera for an in situ. I was really surprised to find this on the trail around our pond. It’s very close to the creek, but probably 4 acres away from all the other points I have found on our farm. I looked around a bit more and was surprised to find a handful of flakes and one really big preform that is the same material as the Redstone I found last year. I haven’t been able to find anything that matches the particular features of this point. Any ideas are welcome! My finds are few and far between, but it’s always fun hoping to find one.

Thanks everyone for the looks! I’m amazed at how many finds the members on here post and enjoy seeing them. I can’t compete with the numbers, but I learn a lot from seeing the finds, and it is fun to share when I do find something. Thanks for the idea on the Broward variant. I’ll look into to that

So have you figured out what type of material it is that they are using in your area? Looks just like the points you have found Chert with the tiny holes in it
