Detector(s) used
Flippin Stick n good luck :)
when i was little i would alwats go off into the desert, and find places i would try to remember to revist when i finally got my first metal detector.4 years ago, well the day i got one i hiked back through the desert to a campfire ring was. well here is my first find, at first i thought it was a latern top, but it is way too heavy, some people told me it looks like a stove vent, the problem is it was found in the middle of nowhere, in the desert foot hills, maybe some settlers brought thier stove on a wagon????

Looks like a flue vent for an old coal or wood stove .

It came off of the bottom of a wood or coal stove. You would adjust the air intake with it when starting a fire are slowing it down when you went to bed at nite so your wood would not burn up to fast...d2

Thinking, since the nuts and bolts are still attached that perhaps it was a replacement part and was lost on the way to it's destination.
