:laughing7: been there. I found a few things that were mine when I was a kid when I first started detecting some years ago.
Was a fun surprise to find.

That is true, I was talking to my mom and practicing with my at gold in the backyard, she said when she was a little kid, she would burry cents in the rose bed, so I checked and I found one wheatie coin was 10 inches down in the dirt. 1944. It was my first find. Mom had a huge laugh about it. Good times!:hello2:

pennies today and the part of the cigarette wrapper that rips off a lot of those:dontknow: maybe they have some metal?

I was born and raised in a small town called Constantine in Southwest MI. In the early 60's I buried a lot of coins all together in the front lawn. I put them in something...? Can't remember what though. The house and front lawn haven't changed at all over all these years. I live in TN. now... maybe I'll take my MD back and ask if I can dig this summer.

Went MDing yesterday and when I got home realized i had lost my pocket knife. Its snowing now so I guess I'll have to wait till the snow melts to go back and find it. The property I was MDing is for sale, so I hope it doesn't get sold before the snow melts or I may have to get permission to go find my knife.

You don't have to guess the history behind that find! If your finding stuff your doing it right congrats!

It will see your pocket knife just fine through the snow and you can tell exactly where you've been swinging to cover the whole area! Go back and get that sucker before the next guy does!

why wait till snow melts? you have a detector right?

LOL I need to read all the posts before I post I guess..

First of all I want to apologize to bigdisco for hijacking his post it wasn't my intention.

To Rob and Papa, I think I could detect it through the 8 inches of heavy wet snow, but its in the very trashy yard of a farm house built in 1804. Also I don't know what type of signal the AUS-8A blade will give. So deciding which targets to dig might be difficult and digging them all even just to the surface would be time consuming. If I wait till the snow melts, I can find my knife and go back over more of the yard and find more good stuff at the same time.

462 don't worry appreciate the info. Btw 35 cents today no dates yet
