I went for a hunt with a buddy for a bit before dark and he got his first 1800's coin which was nice to see. It was a Victoria Canadian large cent 1888. I got three old coins. The first two were a blank toasted copper and a 1770's George iii half penny. The George iii has a date but it's hard to see because it's in pretty bad shape. My find of the day though was my first fatty indian head penny. It looks in decent shape under the crust but I'm not positive of the date yet. I'm thinking 1863. I found other indian heads but this is my first of this type so I'm being easy on it with the cleaning. Up here in Nova Scotia I'll take any IHP I can get. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

I though there would be a silver coin find tonight there for sure. Maybe next time!

With the age of those finds ya might just get a seated or two, perhaps capped bust?

Good luck next time there

You gotta keep digging those old worn out coppers because sooner or later something great will show up, plus it lets you know you're in the right place for something colonial, and that is where it's at!

Nice going on the coppers, great results for any hunt.

Very nice ones. I've yet to dig a Fatty IH but have been there when Cjon has found 2 now. No doubting what they are when you see them.

Great indian:thumbsup:love finding the old coppers, toasted or not. It's not always the hunt but the history:icon_thumright:

Nice hunt, nice finds. I'm the same way about the older Canadian coins as you are about the IHP's. Really hope to find some of the provincial coinage some day.

Nice first fatty, I'm thinking 1861. I came close with a bronze 1864 last year. Coppers are quite nice too :)

Nice finds. Pretty good detail on that KGIII. Congrats!
