I had picked up a new permission over the weekend, and finally was able to get started on it today after the wind and rain finally stopped.
The owner had mentioned that he had lost his gold wedding ring over a year ago and was sure he would never see it again. He had even rented a
detector and looked around for it last fall with no luck.
I asked him if he had any idea where in his 3/4 acre yard it could be and he did narrow it down to about a 25 square yard area, so I proceeded to give it
a try.
After two hours I got a slamming 10 on my Equinox ( a signal I never dig), and once I dug the plug, there it was only an inch down!! I guess
10k rings up as a 10 on my machine, I`ll have to remember that!
I cleaned it up a bit and stuck it in my pocket and continued on to finish that section of the yard, as I was still hoping for other goodies.
Once that was done I went and knocked on the door and his wife answered, and I asked her if she could describe the ring her husband lost.
She described it to a tee, and also told me it was handed down from her grandfather, so it had a lot of sentimental value to her, she got pretty excited
when I opened my palm and asked her if this was the one.
Next she practically ran me out to the garage and hollered at her husband to come see what we had, I think he got more excited than her when I was
able to hand him back his ring.
It was fun to reunite them with their ring, I could see it meant a lot to them.
