Yesterday I bought my first metal detector, signed up on this site to read up on some tips and today was my first time ever going. I can see how this becomes addicting. Not much to look at but I am still getting use to the detector.

Congrats on a successful first hunt. Now your hooked.

That's a really decent day. The religious pendant definitely looks silver. The AT Pro is an awesome machine. You will have a nice collection in no time! Good Luck!!!

Congrats on a first successful dig. Just wait until you dig that first silver coin. The feeling is pretty cool. Much luck and thanks for sharing.

Nice finds bud it takes time but with some practice and putting yourself in the right places the good stuff will come...welcome to the forum....

Congrats on your first finds. It won't take long to get used to your AT pro listen to your tones. They will tell you a lot especially when they are deep. The Jesus pendant does look silver. HH!

Silver on your first day out ! It def. looks to be silver. AT Pro is a very nice machine. You can use it right out of the box and find things, but as you get the learning curve of it's tones and fine nuances behind you some, you will be amazed at how well it works. I mean lots of the machine today are so much better than what I used 30 years ago. I started back with a Fisher F2 and I was tickled with how well it worked and was easy to use. I got the ATP to go in the water, no complaints everywhere I've used it. BTW, I have family in R.I. you will have some really great and old artifacts to dig. Have a ball! Looks like you have made a great start.

Congrats on your first digs and welcome to a back breaking, knee aching, heart wrenching AWESOME hobby! Depending on your taste half the fun can come from digging a "whatthehellisthat" and doing the cleaning and research to get an answer. Good luck.

Welcome to T NET...your off to a great start...this is an awesome web site...you can get tips and tricks from members on here that would take years to learn on your own...welcome to the addiction.

Welcome to the net

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first finds, especially the pendant.

Welcome to T-net ! and I too think your Jesus medal looks to be Sterling silver - should be marked as such (or .925)

Fine first digs, and I appreciate you sharing them with us. And it's only gonna get better. Looking forward to seeing what you find next.

Enjoy what ever you find, if you got into this hobby to make it rich you got in for the wrong reason. If you appreciate finding bit's of history and enjoy identifying what you find, then you'll love it. Welcome

Hey man, I too remember my very first time also, congrats and welcome to treasurenet and the detecting world! Now you will be addicted! Nice first finds!

Welcome to Treasurenet and congrats on a great (first) pendant! I have a battered ATPro that I wouldn't trade for anything. Is that a .223/5.56 bullet strip up top of your photo? Go hit those parks with tot lots and dig EVERY signal in the bark or sand. Your ATPro will find the itty bitty earrings and such there for you! Sub 8-)

You know what ... you're off to a great start! :hello:
Looks like you might've already found your first silver with the religious charm!

You did a lot better than I did on my first hunt 4 years ago! :laughing7:
