Once again did the one day a week go out and find a bunch of Wheaties and one silver event, but between last week and this one,
I'm not complaining. Drove around various Denver areas, finding the usual clad.
Heading back home, I stopped at a site that Seychick and I had hit several times in the past.
It's a fenced in vacant lot that still hasn't changed in months.
Figured it would be a good spot to play with the settings on the DFX, knowing that we had pulled most of the trash out of it.
Got a decent penny signal growl, with a higher pitch mixed in.
Almost always that means that there's some deep iron.
Dug a small hole, and found the head of a large brass safety pin.
That explained the copper range sound.
Passed the coil over the hole, got a screaming 93 quarter signal. Nice thing about the tone id on the DFX, silver has its own sweet sound.
Dug a larger hole, and out popped a nice 1920 Standing Quarter.
Been a long time since I've managed one of those, honestly, I'd rather dig a good condition dated S.T.L. than a worn Seated.
Final stop was where I dug the 1895-O dime, had to go back and face my falling in the cistern fears.
Or just to take a photo and laugh at myself. Did manage to dig a 1895 Indian, to go along with his big sister.
Cheers!
