Hey guys! I've been on lockdown, just doing my jewelry, knife, antique business thang. Business hasnt been too bad! If you havent already you should check out some of my work! Today I FINALLY got back on my creek walking spot! It's actually been blocked off as it could be for the last month or more. Either way, I found these 2 items of interest. My best guess is that they are copper or brass, lol! The flat one is metal over leather or cloth or wood or another metal... I have no clue. It is completely non magnetic and the inner material is soft and crumbles. It is a very unique shape and has the 2 holes. One hole has a eyelet in it, I imagine the larger hole did too, but dont know. The big round object looks like some part of a lantern? Oil lamp maybe? It has a very unique shape on the "top"? I really dont know Haha! It does have the hole in the side as well, but I cant seem to identify it. I'd love to know what these are, or atleast your opinions. I've found stuff dating back to BC, all the way up to modern trash. There was a mill near the sight in the 1800-1900s and a cabin as far back as the early 1700s... probably several cabins honestly. The creek has been used for fishing etc by the native Americans, right up to modern day. There was a large civil war Confederate winter camp just a short distance from this spot as well, but I doubt that has any impact here. I know these finds arent modern, but I have no clue what they are! Any info is appreciated!

So the first one is an engine gasket and fun fact, that crumbly material is asbestos. Probably best not to hang onto that one. :laughing7:

Yeah its outside with the rest of my junk lol. I have found a few pieces off an old engine for sure, that would make sense! In the trash she goes lol. I appreciate it!

You know what type of engine gasket? Age wise anyway? It honestly could maybe help date some of the other pieces I've found lol!

Interesting finds! :dontknow:
