nothing real special - but got out - this spot has been pounded by many and for many years - one of the few places left
we've been losing so many permissions - lost few more this past Spring - farmers are po'ed seems guys are going in while planted
others are going in real early and using large shovels and leaving giant holes cause they don't know how to pinpoint and to lazy to rebury their holes
I know a few of them - I know you may know a few too but don't even know it - wont out them - but they are going to be the
death of us on hunting up here
so here are some of Mondays field finds - worn colonial copper - beat 186? IH penny - set of cufflinks - musketballs - shoe buckle pieces
and a few buttons - most are from 1600s and 1700s - "wave" one has been shown as a patriotic button on some sites - (ive found 3 so far - don't know for sure if they are in fact patriotic though)

went back on Tuesday - mostly musketballs - single cufflink -lower left and few small buttons - just glad to get dirty
packing now for trip to Caribbean this weekend - hope I have something to show next week
good luck to all that get out

Casper I've had the same problem with about three of my permissions. A few uninvited guests have been sneaking in and digging and not burying their holes. I as well as you am not gonna out them on here but they know who they are so we will leave it at that. Two of the places I've had permission for the last 10 years and they screwed me out of those but luckily I didn't lose the friendship of the landowners just the permission

Correctly said. It's ashame, a few can ruin hunting for many. Glad you got out and and made a decent trip out of it.

congrats on the finds meager you guys are spoiled up there lol!

Very well done C2. You have a whole hand full of good stuff there.

Sorry to hear that the slobs are messing up your permissions.

Casper, looks like you had a fun time uncovering all these relics. That wave button is special, real nice. Congrats, and hope you can gain new permissions to replace the ones you've lost due to the carelessness of others. ~Lisa & John

In lower pic- large barrel shaped "ball" we call an indian ball - we get these mainly in this town - a few in towns north and south of there too
it is said that when these towns were attacked by Indians in the 1600s - colonials would bury/hide or throw the ball molds into a fire so they could not be used
the Indians would capture weapons but would not have the molds to cast balls - so Indians would either carve down balls to fit the gun they had or melt and
reshape lead to fit it
2 balls in upper right of lower pic have human teeth marks in them

Looks like a pretty good hunt to me
