mine was a 1961 penny... but my first find was an 1850's 20 Bore(Gauge) Muzzle-loading Percussion Double Barrel Shotgun

That's a great first coin!! You're already in the 19th century! I think my first coin was a clad dime. It took me several months to find my first old coin, an 1865 2 cent piece.
