I went back to a permissions area to scout out some historical artifacts..My heart jumped when I thought I found my first gold coin. Alas, it turns out to be what I learned was a “Challenge coin”. This one is for a USA Navy Captain. I can’t find the age but I believe it is rather recent. I read that it is bronze with gold plating. Fun!
