I've been looking at a new site close to home. Its an old farm from the turn of the century that is scheduled to be bulldozed soon. Spent about 2 hours there and couldn't get a decent coin signal anywhere except for a clad dime in the driveway about an inch deep. This place must have been hit hard before as I would think there would be at least a wheatie somewhere. I been wanting to try something new on the DFX, and accept all VDI's. I wanted to hear all the iron and hope to hear a silver peep somewhere in-between. In the front yard there was iron everywhere, but one of these low tones had a nice one way higher peep to it, about what a zinc penny would sound like. I first pulled out a cut nail and then a piece of another. While probing the hole with the DX-1 I noticed a silver rim protruding from a small ball of dirt on top of the ground. Holy Jeeze! My first Barber and 13th silver for the year. I'm thinking I'll keep using this program and go back over some sites that have quit producing. Also dug a cool gaslamp that still swivels and the valve turns easily too.
