Had not planned on hunting today as it had snowed last night but then recieved a call from my buddy Demitri with an invite to hunt one of his favorite spots. The site is a riverbed that used to be an old campground and he has pulled some cool stuff there including a sweet coin ring made from a barber half so I couldn't resist. I started out using the excal II but the place is littered with iron so I eventually switched to the F75 with a five inch coil. Dug a ton of trash but got a solid dime signal as it was getting dark and out popped the 1898 Canadian dime, got the first barber of the year a couple minutes later a 1913 dime.
Any day that you can dig in Montana in January is a good one and this one was doubly so as I got to spend some time with a good friend and added a couple silver to the jar to boot.
