The town should be very proud to have it!
You did a nice job!

Denver

It certainly looks nice and is very well done.

But why not put some older items in there? Most of the items look less than 50 yrs old. And that really doesn't show much history of the township I would imagine. Especially since you are out there in NY where you should be able to locate finds from the 1700s.

Looks very nice if it was up to me I would add a nice old coin or two.
But, you did an awesome job.!!
They will love it.

Fork over something nice!
i would love to add some thing of better vaule to the box but this is what i have found so far
the best thing i have found i think would be the roundballs or flat buttons
i do have a king george 1st farthing 1722 but it in such bad shape that you can not really see much of anything
please bear in mind that we are new to this hobbie and at this time the machines we are using are lower grade
and only hit at about 6 inches

Do some more detecting!

Fmerg,
Don't pay any attention to Plehbah, he probably has no idea what forum he's even on when he replies. :tongue3: ;D

Your finds look great, and the shadowbox looks just fine. I like the way you put the info off to the side telling what each relic is.
Did you put your name & date on it somewhere?
I just dropped one off today to the owner of the 1804 house I detect at. They loved it, and may have another lead for me too.
Thanks for the post,
MM

I glue one of my cards to the back of my shadowboxes. It has helped in getting more leads to other detecting spots. If someone is interested, that way you have your contact info handy for them. Just a thought.

What type of glue did you use? ???

Box is great just as it is, ignore the trolls Like Plehbah. You can always give matching boxes in the future that will contain older or more valuable finds if any come your way that your willing to part with.

Great project. It shows a commitment to your comunity.

I think your box looks fine and is a very nice gesture.

You could have put you name on the info card, such as Donated by ( your name) and the date. You should at least let folks know who donated it. Just MHO.
