To begin I would like to thank all you all for posting, conversations, sharing of knowledge, and suggestions. Every post has become a wealth of knowledge and direction. I began this hobby with a $50 Radio shack model in mid March, by May I had recovered enough to upgrade to a more formidable detector. What a world of difference when the sovereign xs 2apro was acquired. Within the course of the summer I was able to liquidate a size able amount of gold to purchase an Excalibur II. I have nothing but firsts this year. And I am truly overwhelmed with amazement at how much people actual lose, drop, discard, etc. I am indeed a fortunate lad with the favorable year round weather and the amount of time I can offer my new found hobby, and this plays a huge roll an the amount of items recovered. It's out there, just be patient, go slow and dig it all.

First ring with the $50 craptastic detector.

I will leave it at that. I look forward to seeing the posts for 2014, and for a first full year with more of a handle on how to maximize my time.

To you I have met via these forums, a true pleasure, Clay, gator and Digdig. Look forward to shaking your hand once again.

Be safe and keep a smile on and keep swinging

Hubcap the best part of your post is the fact that you made the effort to return some of the great stuff you found. Lots of people talk about it but not everyone does it. It says a lot about your character and it's great to have another good honest person in this hobby and on this forum. Congrats on a great year and Happy New Year to you and your family, Abe

You had an awesome first year! Can't wait to see your 2014 finds! GL. HH!

Thank you Abe and Msbeepbeep, seeing your and others posts indeed fuels the fever. As well as the random conversation and e-chop busting. Not sure if finding items out weighs seeing others as excited with theirs. Abe, I can't comprehend anything else if I have the ability to locate an owner it's not even a spec of thought otherwise. Just like holding a door open, using my blinker, and respecting myself enough to do it regardless. But thank you.

I'm like you, just started out in May 2013, I too have gained allot of knowledge from everyone's help on the site, maybe I'll post my finds tomorrow. I didn't find anything over the top like gold or worth a extreme amount of money. Of course it's all about, where and what a person is looking for. I like all your finds, thanks for sharing with us.

I absolutely agree with you about it being automatic to do the right thing. I had amazing grandparents with a 500 acre farm that taught me about hard work, honesty, and respect. I'm a huge believer in karma and I also believe there's no other feeling like doing something nice for another. Good things happen to good people my friend. Keep up the good work
