This is the first summer in many years that I have not dealt with rock hard dry ground. It has rained two or three times a week here in northeast Ohio which has helped me do more digging with the Legend.

I absolutely love this detector and would chose it over the nox 800 or 600. For the record, these were the only Nox's I have owned. I have not tried the 700-900. I have not updated to the newest version and I am still running 1.09. I have no issues with this version. I do not play with tone breaks and use 4 tones exclusively. I do not have a problem with the vdi spread(0-60). I can ignored most all modern trash. I can hunt four times(three hours plus each hunt) with one charge The headphones are comfortable and sound great. It is well built and light. I broke two coils with the competition's detectors and while I don't dunk my detectors, I have not heard water to be a problem with the Legend.

What have I been finding? I am not a 'door knocker" so I hunt public parks, schools, and fairgrounds, all of these places pounded by me and many others. It is hard to find a single silver coin or so I thought. I have found over 50 wheat pennies, 18 silver coins, 5 Buffalo's, 2 V's, 1 Shield, and 4 war nickels. This detector is without a doubt the deepest and best nickel detector I have ever used. This detector is very deep with many of the older coins in the 8-9 inch range. I dig very little deep rusty iron and I can easily recognize all modern trash and ignore it.

I have told every person who will listen to me what a bargain the Legend is. I have seen used ones selling for 400 bucks and new in the 600 dollar range. This truly is a detector a person can grow up with. It is a beast with barely adjusting the stock settings. I adjust only the sensitivity, iron filter, and recovery speed. If a person likes to tinker, you can do that too. Short and simple. "Best Bang for the Buck"

Sounds pretty much like my experience so far. I am using 1.11, and I tweak it sometimes just to do something different, but out of the box it has been good. Only thing in my experience to compare it to is my BH Time Ranger. That was a giant step up for sure.

The Legend in a lot of ways reminds me of my Xterra 705, the 705 when I did some air testing was not deep at all but you get out and actually detect in real world settings and the Xterra 705 was a different beast all together, the Legend is the same way when I air tested the Legend when I first received it, in air testing it just seemed like a so so detector, depth wise, but you get out and actually detect in real world settings and it is a totally different detector, my findings with the Xterra is pretty much why I do not put any stock in air test, for me a air test is only good for two things 1- to give yo a idea of what the TIDs might come up and 2-to give you an idea of what a target might sound like, but even then there are a number of things can skew bot IDs and tones.

The Legend is a very deep detector

The Legend is outperforming or equaling everything out there except the Manticore. The reason I say that is Minelab said the Manticore has an inch or two over the EQ900, and the Legend and the EQ900 are equal in depth, VDI stability, and EMI performance. The Legend does edge out the 900 in iron because of the iron filter and stability features.
