Took a family road trip to the U.P. this weekend. My bro in law has his place for sale and I got to get my hunting in before he sells it. www.granotloma.com if anyone is looking for a vacation home in the U.P.
Found a pocket spill in front of one of the farmhouses with 3 Mercs - 28, 32 and 36 with 6 wheaties.
Few feet away was a 42 Merc giving me 4 silvers in one day(previous best was 2). Also found an 1883 Injun and a 28 Buffalo I still need to clean up.
Wierdest find is the beach glass(I think) I spotted while walking the beach. My 5 year old daughter calls it the Jewel of the Nile and is worth more to her than a bag of candy.

Thanks for looking.

Makton,
Way to go on the finds! 4 more mercs! And an IH and buffalo are cool in my book as well. Glad to hear you got a chance to hunt up there. My Mom grew up in the U.P. It is a very beautiful place.

Congrats on the great record-breaking day, Makton!!!

Not only four gorgeous Mercs, but an IH and a buffalo, too!

That's the kind of hunting that makes me happy! WTG!!!

REALLY AWESOME FINDS, WTG TODD!

Congrats on a 4 silver day! Now you need to up your goal to 10 :icon_pirat:

Way to go Makton! A friend of mine has family up in the U.P. I was just up there a few months ago and couldn't stop drooling at all the potential hunting spots. They got it good up der, eh!

Go get 'em Todd!

Is your brother selling the whole place up there or some parts of it?

Todd,

VERY nice hunt! Ah yes, da U.P. One of the nicest places I've been to this side of the Mississippi. Like I've told you before, I've done my fair share of detecting there, but a lot of it was in woods that have never been inhabited, so it was like I was swinging a detector sans batteries, except for the occasional iron burp, as there is a lot of mineralization there. I kind of lost it the one day I got a perfect penny/dime signal in the deepest, thickest section of woods miles from civilization, six inches deep...only to dig a 1973 memorial.

Good luck with the sale of the property. Hopefully you'll get another crack at detecting there before everything is finalized.

Joe

Very nice spill! I'm still trying for a 4 silver day ;D

Congrats on the 4 silvers...
It always good when you find 1 but 4 is 4 times better...

Awesome job - CONGRATS!!!!

Nice going Todd!
What a great way to spend a few days and end up with some nice coins on top of it.
Mike
