Finally broke the 20th century wall! I was detecting the same area that I found my first unfired 45-70 round and a found tons more shells and lead. Seems to have been where the soldiers did their target practice! I was detecting along the line I was finding all the shells and got a higher signal all the sudden so I assumed I found another piece of tin but dug it anyway and boom coin! Haha had my own little party out in the field! My oldest coin to date an 1887 Indian head! It's a lot harder then you'd imagine to find old coins in az usually just wheaties and one 1903 dime. Also found a steam engine gauge plate off of a train not too far away! The railroad was right next to this military camp.

Congratulations on your entry into the 1800s club.
Feels good doesn't it?
Nice IHP

Neat I haven't found one old coin yet out here. Usually all rusted junk, bits of metal, and modern trash and sometimes recent change.

Yeah we have it a little tougher out here in az! I have a few locations around kingman I can send you that I probably won't be getting out there to hunt if you'd like?

Welcome to the 1800s club!

That's a sweet Indian. Mine are usually all chewed up and toasty.

Best of luck to you sir!

That thing is in great shape! Congrats on a nice find.

Congrats on making the 1800's club!! And that Indian is in Great shape too.

There may not be many out there but they sure come up in nice shape. Congratulations on Breaking the Barrier. Now for the 17 hundreds barrier LOL there should be all kind of Spanish gold and treasure out there everywhere. I hope you find your share

More will come. I am still waiting to find a Indian head penny.. One of these days!!!
Pound the area you found it.. Indians don't travel alone!

Congrats on your first coin from the 1800's. I hope many more follow.

Congrats on your first Indian. We find a lot of them here in NY, but usually they're corroded. Nice coin. Welcome to the 1800's club.
