Finally made it into the 1700's club today with a 1737 george ii copper! Was hunting an early farm field and got an indian head signal. Sounded nice and depth was reading 5 inches. Popped the plug and my pinpointer went nuts inside the hole. Moved some dirt and saw a larger green rim. Removed some dirt and realized I had something good! Love the fact that it's holed too! A little toasty but she's all mine haha.

:hello2:First 1700's and an early one at that. Looks nice. Congrats, Keep Swinging!!

How exciting! AND you can read the date! Way to go...

I think I would wet my pants if I found a coin that old--tough going out here in So. California. As a contrast to your find, in my several years of beach & park hunting, I have only found ONE silver coin--and that was only a Washington quarter! Enjoy the historical richness of the PA region and keep up the good work!

Congrats on getting into the 1700's club, I can tell your still stoked. enjoy the feeling. Glad you could pull a date from it.

Great find that you will always remember. Congrats !!

Wow...Looks like its in pretty good shape! Congratulations on a very nice find. Post another picture of the coin after you clean it up.

Congrats on the old copper, .

What's lucky about that first copper is the date is visible. 90% of mine are not. CONGRATS

Definitely lots of history but to be honest I've swung my coil over this field a dozen + times before this showed up. Dug hundreds of holes I'd bet too. It's here but it's not what most people think. It's definitely hard work and commitment digging lots of deep iron and bullet casings, lol.

Thats why doing it quickly improves your finds rate. Beep/dig/pouch 30 seconds or less.

That ain't toasty. You got an ID! Congrats on the 18th century club
