I live close to an abandoned housing community that got bulldozed about 5 or 6 years ago... I go there with my daughter to digg and usually come home empty handed... But once in a while something good comes up... I unearthed this beauty here!! :-)

It seems to be made of copper, it has green oxidation.

I'm not being rude, but what you have there is a metal "dragon fly" the real ones eat fireflies, mosquitoes, flies, greenheads, and other bugs.
Nice find, it would be very interesting to know where, who made and from where this piece of artwork came from. Maybe you should post it in the "what is it" forum, to see what everyone comes up with. That is unless you have already googled metal dragon fly?

Wow I can't believe someone would just post something they didn't dig just for attention. Well on second thought.... What am I saying..., how times have changed. Glad to see you did dig it and it's a cool find. Looks like Pewter kinda to me. Unless that is a green hue. Think it's just the photo making it look that way. Thanks for sharing.

WONDERFUL DRAGONFLY!

I love dragonflies & hanging around ponds where real ones cruise in sunlight, usually some cattails & red-winged blackbirds nearby. Andi

It's funny and kinda sad people try to make sure they make their point before they read all the posts... I tried to explain how I found it and that it has green oxidation in the grooves that form the body of the "metal" dragonfly.. None the less I had a great time while pulling lots of junk (pieces of house siding and other) and coming across this beauty.... NO is not a live dragonfly and YES I found it buried :-) enjoy and HH
