a few of some treasured finds
pottery chards are prolific in the dakotas along the missouri river sites
the rim pcs are the only thing worth saving as the rest are no value other than educational only
but these rim pcs w/the finger imprints are rare and indeed special
sometimes you can see the fingernail impressions

Larson,

I love reading your posts. You find the best artifacts, and your topics are always first rate. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Best Wishes,

One of my favorite pieces is a water jug I purchased a while back that has all four fingers and the thumb imprint on the neck of it. Its kinda neat to put my fingers in the indentions of the ancient man or woman that made the piece many many years ago. Larson I really like reading your posts and looking at your pics of your outstanding artifacts. I wish my camera wasn't broke I'd post some pics of it. Before the upgrade of the site I was able to use my phone to post pics. HH and keep your eyes glued to the ground.

I really like the pottery and the many different designs there esp. the ones with the finger prints.

Cool Larson. The rim pieces are key to identification. In Oklahoma, we found a sherd that actually had a fingerprint on it.

Very nice!
I started keeping pottery pieces after finding a piece that has a hole drilled in it. We find some with simple designs but nothing like you have pictured.
