Spent some cold damp days in the field this week...

Hit a CRAZY S-Turn corner yesterday, loaded with fine gold.
Got back to the lab today and was testing some of the cons.
Thought this picture was pretty cool.

Doc you mention somewhere you bought a new video camera. What did you buy? Been kicking it around of buying a new video camera. I have been using my Samsung S4 cellphone for video and although its does ok I prefer to have a stand alone video camera. I have my share of video cameras over the years just not any HD's.

I buy Sony cams now since we use Sony Movie Studio Platinum for editing.
ACHD format is a breeze when editing when using it.
I always buy ones that have a memory card slot. If we travel we can bring a bunch of extra cards.
Also, if your camera should get wet... the card will be good when it's dried. Not always true for internal memory.
We buy cheap cams that will shoot in 1080 lines / HD
Keep in mind you're not shooting for the "network" and broadcast... you'll probably reduce the size down to upload somewhere.
Even if you shoot in 1920 hd more than likely you'll reduce down to 720 or even less.
This one is pretty good, small, and shoots well. It is just like of the cams we use.
It can fit in your pocket / palm of your hand.

Nice colour goldhog , more to come .. cheers Mick

Yep... that was one handful of a five gallon bucket that weighs right at 90 pounds.
It was LOADED with 50 - 200 mesh gold.
We hope the main channel holds the bigger gold and hope to work it next week.

My nearest panning spot has some fine stuff like that pictured. I'm hoping Santa brings me some of those mats to upgrade the Keene 52. You're doing good work.
