Went out around 8:30 this morning, with snow still on the ground and went at it. I gridded out an area extra slow and my first good hit was this really awesome piece of gold plated jewelry. Does anybody have a guess on age to this piece of jewelry just from the style of it? Looks older than 1900's to me. Had a bit of a dry spell after that and eventually found a 1910 wheatie then after that I found my second old nickel for the year, a 1906 V nickel(my second ever). I'm already ahead of last year on old nickels, since I only dug one V nickel last year. lol Dug an early 1900's style button, H. P. & Co. with 3 stars on the bottom and a woman's hair clip it looks like, has a flower type design on it. Thanks for looking and HH!

nice assortment of goodies Matt, love the patina on the old jewelry :sunny:

Can't tell from the pictures, but does the jewelry piece have something engraved on the flat part? Also, it might have signs of something having been glued or fastened there. It looks like a brooch worn by a woman, that doubled as a wax seal for correspondence. Possibly from the victorian era.

Thanks for the response. I see no engravings, it appeared victorian era to me as well. That little bar pictured beside it was with it in the hole.

Awesome finds. Im headed out there tommorrow maybe i can score some nice goodies! Sweet V nickel!
