Hello All! New to treasurenet. I dug these near Gettysburg and looking for any help identifying calibers, period of axe and what the object may be on the right? Thanks in advance for any help!!

You would be better off to get a pic of each one on its own. A ruler for scale would be helpful as well!

The item on the right is probably a scythe handle. It would have slipped over the main shaft and had a wood handle slipped over the straight part.

I think the shiny copper looking one is a penny

Nice finds!

I do hope they weren't found TOO close to Gettysburg though. ;)

Welcome to t-net! :hello::icon_thumleft: I'm sure someone will soon post some info on the axe. You may also want to put axe photo on the "What Is It?" forum where a lot of experts dwell. Andi

Ok thanks for the replies!! And especially conformation on the penny, I thought that is what it was (24) but totally convinced now. I'm guessing that piece is worth about 1 cent? And perfectly legal hunt with written permission NEAR Gettysburg!! Thanks Again!! Happy hunting!!

If anyone ID's the object on the far right id love to know what it is Ive dug about 13 of them.

Better pics would be nice but the piece on the right looks like a broke pick head

Top left
58 cal 3 ringer
Bottom right
54 cal burnside
Other 2
52 cal sharps carbine
All CW lead
Very nice finds

Nice to have you join The T-Net family! Congrats on your relic finds!
The shinny copper could have been a mint error, all possibilities are on the table in this hobby, it's what makes it great!
A little better lighting on your relics will help people ID them for you. HH!

Thank you for the info!! I did have bottom two on left narrowed down to the 52 sharps carbine and wanted an expert opinion. Thanks again for your reply!!

The shiny copper was not a find just placed there for scale on the small bullet. Thanks for your reply! Will certainly work on my photography skills :)

CW Lead is Civil War lead. Used for melting down to make minie's ( Bullets) and musket balls ( round balls for those of you who hate the term musket ball).

Lol thanks sometimes I'm little slow. I thought duh Civil War after the reply.
