These were found in a junk yard minus the tons of junk change. Most are costume jewelry but the ring is Sterling Silver.

Glad there's a fellow junk yard hunter on this site. The other day I found $7 in bills behind a glove compartment. Here's a tip, kick off the glove compartment and look behind it - lots of junk falls behind it. Also don't forget to look for sunglasses in the overhead compartments. Most jewelry will be in the "place of no return" between the two front seats and the center console. Junk yards rock :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Having spent several years managing a salvage yard as well as working in them when I was younger it would take all night to list the things I've found. So I'll just list the best 2. A ladies diamond encrusted Bulova watch that the local watch guy appraised for $1200 and a loaded .45 automatic...

Another spot to check if you can is behind the dash where it meets the windshield. I know my last vehicle has a gold earring back there that my wife threw in an argument. I never got that earring back lol.

I knew a guy that used to work as a junk yard dog and I've seen some things he's found, unbelievable. The amount of money over the years was crazy and the gold and silver jewelry had to be in the 10's of thousands

Awesome finds!

I worked in a junkyard for a summer years ago, and I went through every car when they came in.... I found lots of stuff, from tools to guns, money, bags of pot and accessories.... you name it I found it...

Nice recoveries from the cars. We use to do the junkers at the dump when we were kids.

One of the neatest finds was in 1994 a 5 gallon can of nuts and bolts dropped off at the yard from a garage clean out. The next day I dumped it and out came this large hand cream container and a little jewellery box. I opened the box and it contained some older foreign coinage so I went inside and opened the large container and it was full of silver. Nothing older than 1960-1965 but all silver so I cashed it in and got close to $600 for the pile, which paid for the new security alarms.
