Finds from the woods behind my old reliable high school. Had a run on nickels Thursday with 4 buffalos and a V nickel. They might have been in pretty good shape when they were lost, but they sure didn't stay that way in the ground. Saturday was a hodgepodge of new and old with some clad and memorials, another buffalo and two wheaties. The merc I found is in truely remarkable shape. You can still see some mint luster on the reverse and it almost has full split bands. I found it in a gravel road as I was walking back to my car. I didn't do anything to clean it except to swish it around in a puddle near my car.

Geez, the coins in the first picture are sure pitted. Bummer. The merc is very sweet.
