I was only able to get out one day this week. Not a lot of finds but some cool stuff nonetheless. Horse shoe, pan handle, more ammo, square nails, and a few modern coins to name a few. Some of the more interesting stuff is a lipstick(?) cap, the front half of a button with a "U" on it, a decorative piece that mimics foliage of some sort(awesome green patina), a silver plated copper tube with holes in one end, and a rein guide. As a relic hunter I've been wanting to check this one off my list for some time. A rein guide or terret (possibly a rein drop)is used to prevent your reigns from getting tangled up in the horse harness. They come in all shapes and sizes. This one is rather plain but I'll take it. Also of note is an antique brick from an old brick company out of Nashville. Fulcher & Dyas Co.
Thanks for looking.

Well that looks like one really knarly fork you recovered .
Cool embossed brick

Can you post a side view of the ''lipstick cap''? The "U" makes me remember the Union Metallic Cartridge Company headstamp on rimfire cases for exemple the .22lr.

Cool stuff. Tube looks like it could be a burner, or maybe the light source for a lamp. Just a thought.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

You know.... the quarter coulda been just two years older...

Thanks for the share.
😂
I found my first silver quarter this year and that was the first thing that went through my mind.

I'll post some more pics of it this morning. I can add it is about the same size and has the same color design as a Duracell "AA" battery. The copper top battery. The capped end is convex. The body has no discernible writing.

It could be part of a cartridge but I don't know how they are constructed or if they made a larger caliber rimfire. I thought the same thing about the marking. The U is an identical font to UMC. I'll also post more pics of the back of it.

With a fork like that dieting sure would be easy😁
As for the brick it's always cool to find something connected to your home town

Is that some type of fork?
I don't think so. I believe it's some sort of decorative piece. There are two holes at the bottom where it was attached to something.

I see what your saying. Gas flows through the tube and is ignited at the end with the holes. Interesting thought, I'm going to look into that.
