Let me know when the garden needs picking!

lol ied like to plow more of the field up to see what else i could find them are from the past few years i got bowl full of flint that came out of the garden

Looks like I'm taking up gardening...nice finds, thanks for sharing

Dang wish my garden produced points. No I have to travel!!!!! Be careful how you plow, you could tear up a cache or some beauties and by the looks of what you got there you have a very early field at least 9500 BP. (before present)............All around it could yield different era's of occupation. You could just be scratching the surface on a huge find so be extremely careful!!....................GTP

they had a big camp here on the farm wish i still had all the ones that i found from the other garden spot when i was younger

Well if it was a village site and by you describing it to me how much land, who lived there before you, was it all farmed, so on and so forth will tell me what you have. Right now you have told me that you had another garden spot you found points at. How far from this one would you say it is? How much land and is it close how big is the water source??

thanks everyone! how would a person go about digging in the field without plowing

All these clues will tell me if it was a campsite or a village site. Very big difference and the artifacts you could be finding are just a sample and what you can find could be unbelievable!!

the other garden spot was about 200 yards from this one the farm is about 20 acres i dont know how much its been plowed i know my grandpa never plowed the field

Go to where you found those artifacts and do a test dig. Dig like a 6x6 area and dig until you do not find anything anymore. Do a couple of those and then post what you found. If no one lived on that land before you, you could find a lot!!! Just imagine 9500 years of occupation and every year things are made on that site, points lost scrapers tossed, so on and so forth and if it is un-touched there could be a treasure troth under that soil!!

thank i'll do some test holes when the ground dries up

Pretty jealous right now..good luck.. although I don't think you will need it. This is just a suggestion... but when you dig.. don't just dig straight down. remove layers a few inches at a time... when you find an artifact try to pay attention to the soil it was in.. how large the grain.. any color change.. things like that.. then peel away the dirt above it like peeling an orange... to open up that layer of ground. repeat that process... and you may be able to determine the condition of the soil the majority of the artifacts are found. Then..... You could open up the ground Anywhere on your property And just by the look of the soil You will know if you're in the right layer to find good numbers.

Nice haul man. Looks like you're into some archaic stuff. The types and materials look familiar , I hunt Greenbrier, Summers, and Monroe counties.
