New to all of this but I’ve definitely got the bug to find some artifacts.

I don’t see anything that is worked. But, if you’re hunting the Flint River it shouldn’t take long until you find some good points and tools. Good luck and be safe.

The pot-lid scars on the larger piece in pic3 say it has been exposed to heat. I think some of that is knapping debitage. They have nice stain to them as well. Keep your eyes wide open in that area!

A couple of those could be, and I say that hesitantly, Utilized Flakes. But then again, the flaking I see is most likely from river tumbling. Great looking material though.

Thanks tdog and from reaper for the info I’ve got a lot of stuff I picked up and I’ve been thru and thru it just some pieces I can’t tell if maybe it could have been something. I’ve been getting stuck driving in idle down dirt roads looking as well as going to the river.

A friend of mine found this point last year on the river.

I neglected to touch on it and Steve brought it to our attention so this may be at least some of what he is referring to...

those are really good examples of what flint can do all by itself...actually very informational.

Flint River = CandyLand! Some of the nicest colored patina from any river in the US!
