Man, there's some good stuff in there! Look at all those SLQ's. I really like the foreign coins too. After looking at your pictures I realized I used to wear an 1800's Canadian large cent as a necklace when I was a kid. Picked it up at a coin show with a hole popped in it. Not sure where that is now...

That's a nice set of coins that your dad gave you. Some are pretty old - did he say how how acquired them?

thanks,
since he was a little kid from his grandparents, my uncle stole a sack of spanish cobs that my dad found back then washed up in cape cod too but hes been since passed, no one touches his room... duno about that one but got some nice coins i'll pass down the line. no way im selling them

That's really something. East India Company? Wow. That Massachusetts token could be worth a fortune. I don't know...the whole thing is cool and intriguing. I wonder if your uncle buried some of his stuff?!

Here is a link to a coin explorer for every coin minted in US. I would check each coin by date and mint, you might have a winner in there.
Online Coin Catalog | Coin Search Page | NGC Coin Explorer

Other countries you would have to do a Google search. I bet that Mass. colonial is worth some bucks, I don't know without researching it.

Great finds!

wow nice coins, could be some value there. Good for you wanting to keep them.

Some neat coins there. Always like SLQ's. The Massachusetts piece is a modern copy.

if that pine tree cent is real, it's worth a fortune

could be a modern copy no telling aside from 'facts' that they are 'unique' all i can say is it doesn't have the word copy, cp, neither on the edges.. either way i wouldn't sell it even if it was worth millions, or not

thanks for all the input got some nice dated SLQ and some walking / franklins if my dad can find them

Sorry, there is a way of telling, it doesn't need copy on it to be one.

yeah i know check the sides to see if they were spliced together, but they are not, also back in the 1700's 1800s they would REstrike coins with the same die, so it might not be 1776 but i might be an old coin regardless

I'm going to go out on a limb here so this topic doesn't last too long, The Massachusetts 1776 IS A FAKE!! BUT im 100% sure that i have the REAL one and the M.H.S has the FAKE one !!! so ! ........thanks for input and letting me share my collection that i recieved, HH all!

Its a good talking piece.

The main thing is you have a great collection of silver & it was from your Dad.:icon_thumleft:

Indeed. Thanks CRUSADER

Fake or real - don't let anyone bother you by the talk of it. Just enjoy your Dad's coins, as it appears you are. :icon_thumright: Congrats on a very cool inheritance!

the Massachusetts copper is a replica - 100 percent sure...they pop up on Ebay - the real Mass copper has an Indian on one side and an Eagle on the other....you can see those on Ebay too...
