Just getting used to loading pics etc, but will start posting some of my finds from the English and European coast,Start with a 2000 year old Roman Brooch, Then a early Medieval Silver penny, and a Gold Guinea
Couple finds made by digging partners , The silver token is one of my favourites found by Dean, The Gold drilled Half found by Mark about 10 feet from where I was heading!
I live 100 yards from the coast in Yorkshire England, There are a few popular resort beaches , but The whole coastline has a tragic history of Shipwrecks. So pre 1800 finds are quite common if you put in the time and don't mind walking miles to get to access points. The Gold came out on a day where the windchill was freezing the salt water
I prefer to only use PI's on the coast I have several but prefer my Whites Surf PI Pro, Heres a interesting American Half Dime, It was dug a few feet from the spot a friend dug a Gold English half Sovereign that was also holed
Heres a pic taken on the cliffs a 100 yards from my house, if you look out to the headland This is the spot where John Paul Jones fought the Battle of Flamborough Head, After the battle, the Bonhomme Richard was so damaged that she wound up sinking the next morning, I have dug 100s of Musket shot and several canon balls but could be from this or one of the many wrecks on this stretch of coast
