Today I was on my way to see my girlfriend. She had an emergency to tend to so we had to cancel. So I stopped by some banks in a decent sized town. At one bank the tellers were kind enough to take the halves out of a coin counting machine to sell them to me. It ended up being $53.50 in halves. I could see that some were silver. When I got home and went through them, I found 13 40%! The other banks didn't produce anything. I also found a Nicaraguan 5 cent piece?
On Monday I bought some fed rolls from a random bank. She would only sell me $200 worth when I asked for $700. I assumed I was hitting someone else's stash. This netted me 7 40% and 1 90%. Not bad!
Today I also got an account with a bank who will order boxes of halves for me. My first go at it. The only thing is there will be a fee to do it. Yes, I know, you all will say not to do it. But I am just happy I finally found someone who will order them. It's not about the money, it's about the thrill. She has to call me and let me know what the fee is. She also asked that I not dump them back at their branch.
So I first started this hobby in mid-March, and have been on 4 road trips on my days off. So far this has netted me 4 90% and 37 40%. Not too shabby.
