Finding leads hint/"town chat boards"
I found a chat board about a town around where I live. I gather there are ones like this all over the country. People were talking about old memories of growing up, etc. A couple old timers talked about the swim hole where I've found all the old coins. Others gave clues about other good places and many times they post their email address so you can contact them if you need more info. One really interesting thing, though it's not something I would do, they talked about a time capsule and told where it was buried in 1976 as part of the bi-centienniel. I don't think it would be right to go dig it up and I'm interested in older stuff anyway, but point is you can get some great leads off that kind of board.
