A friend called me in a more than semi panic to see if I could help her find a wedding ring her 88 year old aunt lost a few days ago at a party. Her husband had died two years ago, and she cherished the ring. Well, it had rained some, again, but Thursday it let up enough so we could give it a try. They had already gone through the house, car, all that to no avail. After cautioning her sometimes these things are NOT where we think they are, I mentally laid out a grid on the back lawn of the residence where the party took place. For some reason, I guess to be thorough, I started from the least likely end to the most likely, under a big maple tree. The Deus sniffed it out (I almost lost my eardrums on that signal) after about 15 minutes. It was 8' from the tree.
When we saw it I yelled "Don't touch it!" I wanted this picture. She thought I had found a snake!
