FIND OF A LIFETIME!!!!

Yesterday i went on a four hour drive to an old silver mining ghost town the whole hunts i was finding square nails and bottle caps UNTIL i got a 42 vdi on the x-terra 70 dug down about 8 inches thinking it was a can ( or NOT !!!) i turned the trusty garret pro pointer on,moved the dirt and saw a 1855 o seated half with arrows in excellent shape.My oldest silver,My oldest coin find,My first half!!!!

Whether you make the banner or not, that's a heck of a find for 13! (or anyone else) Believe it or not it took me almost ten years to find a half and it was only 1944. (And I'm older than 13)

Wow. That is indeed a find of a lifetime whether that lifetime is 13 years or 93 years.

Way to go!!! I started detecting when I was 11. I'll be 13 for the 3rd time soon, and I've only found 1 silver half (1943). I still haven't found a seated anything. Great find, and in great condition too.

Dude, I STILL haven't found my first half! Let alone a SEATED! friggin' awesome! And I am 13+13! lol My advice on cleaning that coin would be DON'T...just let the water hit it...soak it, and let the water hit it again. Awesome man, awesome.

any tips how i could clean this coin?

Let it soak a while in warm soapy water, then use an old tooth brush and lightly brush the dirt away. You won't hurt the coin, it's the real harsh methods that ruin dug silver coins... baking soda rub, tooth paste, electrolysis etc..

There was a guy in town a while back who was buying coins. His ad specifically said he would buy only dug coins that had not been cleaned. Rinse the dirt off and keep as is. Congratulations!! Monty

I vote banner little buddy. Most of these guys on here can only wish they could find a coin as good as yours. By the way do not clean it this will really hurt the value. Just soak it in warm soapy water then brush is a bit with a soft tooth brush and rinse.

Excellent find! I've only found 1 silver half (Walking Liberty) in my years of detecting.

As others have said, just rinse it off with water. Try to keep it as original as you can.
