Found a what appears to be silver coin today and have no clue what it is. Can I post in here to see if anyone has any ideas? It is very clad and ive heard not to overly clean it?

Looks silver, and somewhat crusty. I'm sure there's lots of folks that will help you out in great suggestions on cleaning methods for that large puppy. Congrats and welcome to TNet
 

Looks to be half dollar size. I also believe it's silver. Congrats.
 

Believe it's silver. Looks like it may be something hammered. Looks like an offset hammer mark in one pic.

I don't think you can hurt that coin.
It is pretty much toasted.
Electrolysis, silver test kit, etc.,, to clean and to identify base metal.
 

Whatever it is, it must have been fun finding it while snorkeling!
 

i find alot of stuff snorkeling fishin rods, lead weights, sunglasses sometimes cash nice find
 

Are you in the states or in another country?
 

If you are in the VaBeach area I'd suggest bringing it to the Tidewater Coin and Relic Club meeting next Tuesday (13June). We meet at the Library in Ocean View at 7pm.
 

Could possibly be an old Spanish coin, too. Will have to be cleaned up some.
