Relic Hunting
I have been wanting to find one of these big blades for along time, and today was the day. I got a new permission today, it was an old village of about 75 so I am told, it had two saw IMG_0018.JPGmills several stores and of coarse homes that are long gone. I found the land owner this morning by accident, I was there two weeks back he was not home, I live an hour away, I did have his phone number but I decided not to call him in case he said no over the phone, I felt this was a very important permission to blow by calling him. I took the chance he would be home this morning, I pull in the drive way no car, I knocked on the door no one home, I just start to back out when this truck came in, it was the land owner. He was really friendly and wanted to talk about the village he now owns the four corners the town was on. He explained there have been others there with detectors, he mentioned to me they had never shown him any thing the have found, I will show him the stuff I find, he said there was a tavern and several homes in the one field that is still in beans for another week, I will be there next sat rain or shine. The big axe came form one of the two saw mills that was there, I can't wait to get back there, I will keep you posted.

Sounds like a great site. Congrats!

Congratulations! :occasion14:

Can hardly wait to see what you find at the tavern site, should be a good coin producer!

Congratulations, that is a nice relic of bygone days. Good luck when you get to the tavern site!

Sounds like some permissions I get, the previous detectorist either showed nothing or very little at all & then we come along & blow the owners mind with the amount of finds. Still have no idea why some don't share because if they had we would have far less choices. Now its the other way around, they are having difficulty getting any land in our area. Good luck sounds like your doing it right.
