So I bought me a Whites Prizm V a few months ago and have been trying to get out and get some good hunting in but its been hard to find time since I am in the Navy. I am out here in Norfolk, VA...about a 20 minute drive from the infamous Virginia Beach, VA. Lately I have been hunting out on the beach and always hear about people finding good things but I always leave with just a pocket full of regular change....that is until a few days ago. I got a strange signal that was telling me trash by the way it was bouncing around on the display near iron and pull tabs and acting very erratic. I hadn't dug anything in a while so I decided to go ahead and do my part in cleaning up the beach. Much to my surprise I pulled out a gold colored pendant with diamond-looking stones. The next day I took it to the jewelry store and they cleaned it and examined it for me. It turns out to be a 10K pendant with 18 real diamonds in it!! It's my first diamonds and I am eager to get back out there.

P.S. Sorry, I can't post a pic because I am sending this from a computer on my ship.

Congratulations on your gold and diamond pendant!

May it be the first of many wonderful discoveries!

I hunted Va Beach for three years in the late 80's and just hunted the beach and not the water. I don't remember finding much gold on the beach to be honest but always came home with a pocket full of change. Its a great area to hunt and a good time of year to be swinging on the beach, shame you can't get in the water, friends there had GREAT success in the water!! Nice find!

Sounds like a sweet find cillosis... Post some pics when you get your land legs back under ya...

Jack,

I can detect out in the water from the stem down but the waves there generally are pretty rough and it is really hard to do under those circumstances. I met a guy a few weeks ago who found 3 diamond rings in one weekend! That has been very inspirational to me and keeps me coming back :)

Congrats on your first really good keeper. WTG!!
I hope you get a pic up for us when you get to dry land.
Have fun out there and have one for me!! ;D

Smiles!

Unexpected discoveries are always the best!!!!

Keep safe...

Frankly I'm impressed you're so excited about your find that you would go to such lengths to share your story with us while still at sea!

Nice find..I'm still hunting for my real diamond(s).

Also, thank you for your service to our country.

Wonderful find! I was in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk as well...CINCLANT FLT then the Independence. I was there when Ocean View still had the amusement park and Virginia Beach had very few hotels on the beach...as a matter of fact you could park along the road and walk just a few feet to the beach. It was so uncrowded that we even went skinny dipping late at night there. Progress, phooey! Of course now that the beach is crowded that means more treasure for you! Good luck. There are miles of beach from Ocean View to Little Creek if you can park and walk...don't know if there is any access anymore. I'm still waiting for diamonds...found gold but no sparkles yet.
