4 dams are being removed on the Klamath River, this project is to restore salmon runs and other species. These dams were put in 1917, as an owner of a claim on the Klamath River this great news. They warned that there will be a lot of sediment flowing down the river and as you all know the dams also block gold from flowing down the river too. These dams artificially kept the river high during the summer time but in 2024 when they are all gone the river will return to their normal flow thus exposing areas to mine not seen in over a hundred years. It will interesting to see the big changes this river will go threw.

Just wondering if the Army core or maybe a State agency will dredge out the sediment out of the dam bottoms?
The sediment should have some values in it.

As stated all sediment will be allowed to flow threw the old dams. That is why they are warning all who live below the dams . Dredging not needed the river will clear itself out in it's natural time. The whole point of this is to let nature take its course.

Well during more natural winter floods the sediment should clear fairly safely all the way to the oceans.

During very large water floods such as in the last ice age the sediment can be very dangerous as in killing all life below the water line. The eco's are not predicting an ice age very soon.

Most can see why dam's installed in 1917 could be failing and not worth fixing.
