I haven't posted any finds lately mainly because I have'nt had much time to hunt and when I did all I could find was clad, nails, pull tabs and a lot of whatisits. In the last two weeks I have had a little luck. I found an old chimney down in the woods where a hunt club uses the land for deer hunting. After about an hour of nothing but junk and two lost deer dogs, I found 12 wheats, the oldest one 1909, 2 dimes an 1 indian head dated 1903, can't tell the dates on the dimes or most of the pennies. After washing them in soapy water, I am soaking them in olive oil hoping that will help. If it is not raining I'm going to try the same place again tomorrow but I'm taking my grandson along , he loves to dig and I can give my poor knees a rest ;).

Millie, It's good to hear from you again. Don't worry about having great finds to post, just check in and say howdy once in a while. :)
Nice coins. Be careful of the deer hunters.

Millie,

congrats on your finds. Sounds like an interesting location. Hope you do well on your next hunt there.

have a good un......................

Congrats Millie! I would love to see some pics when you get the chance! ;) Great to hear you are finding time to get out and it's great to hear from you here again! Good Hunting! -- omnicognic 8)

Very nice digs, Millie,,, WTG!!!
You should check the 1909 Wheat for the initials on the reverse, at the bottom (V.D.B.). That would be a fantastic find...
Post those what's it's, I like seeing them and trying to figure them out...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Sounds like a good place to hunt, with a few old coins. Have a good time. Dig your iron signals in case it is some buried money.

WoW Millie! Great finds!!

Hope you find more when you return!

Congrats on your having a partner too!

Nana ;)

Cool finds millie. Definitely keep an eye out for those deer hunters-one piece of advise. If you are in an area where hunters are, wear bright colored clothing or a bright orange vest. Bst of luck on your next outing. HH

The back of the 1909 wheat is hard to see, hopefully it will clean up some more, I used a magnifying glass to read the date, my grandson says it is a 1907. I could be wrong on the date. I will post some of the what's it's and the coins also as soon as I can figure out how to stop my coins from being the size of dinner plates ;D.

Here's link that may help with your pictures: http://www.irfanview.com/
It's a free program called infraview that you can use to edit, crop, resize, and a lot of other stuff for pictures...
I forget who stuck the link on the forum, my memory is terrible, but thanks goes to them...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Omni, I have the red roadkill you sent me sometime this summer ;D, I have tried several times and screw up every time I try it. After Thanksgiving is over I will sent my pics to you so you can help me. Sweet, generous me voluntered to deliver food to people that are unable to have Thanksgiving dinner without it and do not have a way to come to the Union Mission to eat, they prepare hundreds of plates every year. I don't mind helping out, it makes me feel good to be able to do it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
