I went back to the same spot as last week with the same goal in mind. I wanted to collect a musketball, a button, a buckle and a coin. Like last week I hit three out of four but this week I got my coin...just not a buckle. I actually got three coins. Two coppers which have no detail and...drum roll please...my first Victorian silver! A Victorian 10 cents. It is pretty worn but I should be able to get a date when I get home to my loop. The musketball is a French .69 cal and the button is a flat Victorian.

I also found a riveted piece of saddle leather and a large loop thing. Thanks for looking!

Nice silver coin. Too bad the coppers don't have details.

I have only found 1 canadian silver coin. Hoping I find more.

O.K. We've seen the "before" pics. Got any "after's" for us? Great finds. I love an interesting haul like this.

It looks to me like your in the right place.........those early coppers put you in the right area for some really old Silver! Good luck! WTG

After studying the dime I cannot make out a complete date. It is 18??. It is the 22 leaf variety so that narrows it down to 1882-1899. I am still happy with it! ;D

I have to agree. I found one similar in size made of iron.

I have found 3 of those riegn quides (I used to call them buggy thingies B-4 your post) all were found the same day (how crazy is that) miles apart and only one was bent up. Yours looks more colonial than mine. Mine were likely all early 1900's due to the area found, and less fancy than yours. Those coins are super.
