Teknetics gamma 6000/Detech 13" Ultimate DD Coil
Garrett Pro-Pointer/Buzz Wilson Bomb Sheath/Lesche digging tool/Black Widow headphones.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Spent a couple hours at a local park. The first hour and a half I spent trying diff things, all metal mode, discrimination, notching, feeling comfortable I spent the last half hour going around trees that were about 25 yards from the tot lots (thinking parents will sit under the shade tree while the kids play. Found 18 coins (all clad) a co2 canister, a pick, some pull tabs a king cobra beer cap and sone more junk. Nothing really worth a darn but I left feel confident that I can find coins and the most important part to me, when I walked away from my dig I could not tell where I had dug. So I'm pretty happy with today's outing. Thanks for looking. HH! image.jpg

Yup, good job! Me and my mom had a Bounty Hunter and it took a while to learn what beeps meant what (though of course we missed some!) And then we started to kick ass.

And I then got an upgrade Teknetics with several more (rather confusing to start, now love them!) options and it took me many months to even know what was going on! Just keep hitting it and digging and experiencing! In my very limited one to another detector experience, it's kind of like learning a new language.

Trust your ears! Happy Hunting!

Congrats on being an expert hunter, leaving no sign you've been there! I found only clad today too. Your trash is more interesting than mine! Lol!

I bet it felt good to get out! Congratulations on your finds and best of all covering your tracks!
HH!

Thanks all, Msbeepbeep you should come have a field day in my backyard! I don't know who lived here before but I don't believe they believed in garbage cans. The crazy things I've found buried back there!! Insane! It was nice to finally leave that trash pit and hit a park!

Don't forget in the Tot lot also there are goodies in there, also you should try the rest areas down 99 I find change in the 2 close to me on I-5. happy hunting.

Thanks Boat, I'm just starting out, got lots to learn still but having a blast! Was going to hit up the football bleachers at the high school cause they had a huge playoff game Friday night but didn't get around to it. Would probably need the 5" coil for that? Beings they are aluminum bleachers. I can't get enough of this hobby haha.

I use my sniper coil 4.5 inch under the bleachers around here it works great.

Hehe. I detected under some bleachers which was one of my best spots. But not actually under them, I found a natural line where the sheet metal all up in bleachers deposited things. Found earrings, lots of coins, and other stuff. Your 5" coil would've been very helpful there!

Beyond my large coil problem was that I was crouching for hours since it was a tight space, the very end of bleachers!. But that was a great situation for me to learn how to just tweak the detector enough to still hear big bleacher metal but moreso a constant tone away of even under it. At that point my pinpointer was also my frend! In some really nice spots a pinpointer can find dozens of coins in a very tight spot and any other detector is redundant.

You seem a savant detectorist so far! :icon_thumleft:

(P.S. with all the school shootings going on, just pay close attention to and put down all detectors for a time if any school faculty or security or outside cops near you. If they near after putting down, happily tell 'em what you're doing. If that means they expel you, that's that. But most I've encountered at least have been cool)
