I'm 33 now and have been detecting since I was about 15. I have NEVER found a silver Washington quarter in all that time. I have found a Standing Liberty Quarter but never a Washington. I know it's no big deal but it's nice to finally get one. That's two firsts for me this year...I got 2 Buffalo's after never finding one. I decided to hit a baseball field that's a stones throw away from my house. My brother and I have detected in many times and never really found many coins. Anyway, I got a strong quarter signal on the Eagle Spectrum at 7 inches, dug the plug and there she sat face up at the bottom of the hole. Also dug a little religious medal that registered in the pull tab range. Thanks for looking.

They sure look good sitting in dirt :icon_thumright:

It is, they look great fresh from the ground.

Awesome finds, especially the quarter! What part of the baseball field did you find the quarter in?

Dead center field near the fence.

Congrats on your first! Lots of firsts for a lot of people this year. Hopefully that's a good sign and not a bad one. lol

Congrats on the quarter.
You sure don't find many in public places as I will agree to that.
It is so weird how you can go to a place a dozen times and then something jumps out.
There are many theories on why this is so, and just goes to show you there are always a couple hiding.

Glad you finally got that Washington, CS. :icon_thumleft: Neat religious pendant too.

Way to go there Coinstriking, I just found my first Washington sliver Q about 4 weeks ago, they sure don't come easy, Congrats and Good Hunting!!!

Thanks guys.

Great find !

Always good to see a date on that white metal, now it will be easy to find more. good luck!

Congrats on the quarter/They seem to be tough for me to find too(2 so far-1 a washington(44),the other I found a couple of weeks ago(a no date -variety 1 Standing Liberty))

I have noticed that it seems washingtons are hard to find. I have found more barber quarters 5 to date 3 only washingtons 0 standing 1 seated 1876 . Love it there still around however i just wish I could find a SLQ seems to be my tuff find . Nice ROB

I've only found two silver quarters. This one and a dateless SLQ. Oddly I have found quite a few barber dimes but never a quarter.

Congratulation!
