Been detecting for about 5 months now, found gold rings, silver rings, a diamond ring but alas no silver coins...Till today. I was beginning to think I'd never find any. But here they are. Man they sure look so much nicer than the clad ones. I found them at a local play field. I was getting a lot of coin hits when a pack of people and all their dogs showed up. There were Frisbees and balls flying every which way. I'll have to go back there when it's less crowded. I hope my next big find is a dogcatcher badge? ;D

I've only found one dirty piece of silver. A washington quarter that looked like it had been near a fire...

Rod

good luck on your return visit! Did ya find them in the middle of the field? Outfield? dug-outs? stands? where abouts?

Nice going Caratjuice, Silver always makes me smile. Glad to see you met your challenge. Mine was a pre 1900 coin. The first part of March I found a 1876 IH penny that met it.

Nice Finds and Congratulations on the Silver.Watch those Frisbee dogs they might want to latch on to your coil. LOL HH

Congrats on the silver. To be honest tho, I would rather find 5 diamond rings than 5 silver!!!!! LOL.

Thanks all for the responses,

Rod: I found them towards the middle of the soccer field. Checked the perimeter of the field when the dogs came and didn't get as many hits.

birgig40: That's a good Idea. I think I'll ask a couple of guys off the forum that live close to me it they want to hit this place hard on Saturday Morning.

I have found a few of those 60s silver dimes my self, They definitely have a different luster and I never can get them through those coin counting machines in the supermarkets. My guess is that they make a different sound when they drop through the shoot.
